Wings of Heroes continues its dynamic growth. The mobile flight simulator set in World War II launched in October 2022 and has since expanded with new features that contributed to consistent revenue growth in consecutive quarters of 2024, alongside increased player engagement. The game now enters its next stage of development – Battle Pass is being introduced into its extensive LiveOps ecosystem. This feature not only structures gameplay around a seasonal rhythm but also opens new opportunities for monetization and daily player interaction.
LiveOps play a key role in the long-term development of free-to-play titles. Their goal is to deliver fresh content on a regular basis and foster player engagement through special events, progression mechanics, and competitive elements. In the case of Wings of Heroes, the ongoing expansion of LiveOps has been one of the main drivers behind the positive business performance observed in 2024.
At the beginning of 2023, the game offered just one event per week. Currently, the activity calendar features around 20 weekly events on average, supported by a range of systems including milestones, event currencies, rankings, special offers, and game modes tailored to specific events. Community – focused features such as squadron wars have also been introduced.
“- The introduction of the Battle Pass is another phase of developing the game’s monetization system and establishing a structured seasonal rhythm. It’s a solution that supports daily activity, sets clear objectives, and helps us plan content more effectively. Our goal is to build an engaging, scalable game that meets player expectations and supports long-term product development.” – said Michal Szurma, Product Owner of Wings of Heroes.
The implementation of Battle Pass is a logical extension of the existing LiveOps ecosystem. It is currently one of the most effective tools for supporting both monetization and engagement in F2P games. Based on a seasonal progression model, it enables players to regularly unlock rewards in exchange for daily activity. Thanks to its appealing premium offer, it effectively encourages both first-time and recurring purchases. The system not only increases user engagement through goal – oriented progression but also helps maintain a consistent content rhythm, ensuring revenue stability and predictable LiveOps cycles.
Battle Pass has become a standard feature in F2P games, from casual titles to AAA productions. Its introduction in Wings of Heroes aligns with an industry – wide trend of building long – term player loyalty through transparent progression systems and time – limited access to exclusive rewards.
The Wings of Heroes team is already working on the next set of updates. In the near future, the game will introduce a new gameplay mode and tools aimed at enhancing engagement and strengthening the community.
